West Virginia Motor Vehicle Power of Attorney (Form DMV-9-TR)

The West Virginia Motor Vehicle Power of Attorney (Form DMV-9-TR) is a simple, one-page form provided by the West Virginia Department of Transportation, Division of Motor Vehicles. It allows a buyer, seller, or legal owner of a motor vehicle, trailer or boat to authorize and appoint an Agent to act on their behalf. Specifically, once the Department has processed the request, the Agent will be bestowed with special powers to sign any certificate of title of the vehicle named in the form. As stated in the form, the Agent’s powers may be exercised to effect the transfer of title, application for a duplicate title, or the application for a new title.
