South Dakota Motor Vehicle Power of Attorney (Form MV-008)

A South Dakota Motor Vehicle Power of Attorney (Form MV-008) may be used by either  a motor vehicle owner or a boat owner to authorize a party of their choosing (referred to as their Attorney) to make application for or to assign a Certificate of Title. The owner is permitted to authorize their Attorney to complete one or both of the following transactions:

  1. To apply for a Certificate of Title of the owner’s vehicle in their name, or
  2. To assign all right, title, and interest of the owner’s vehicle on their behalf.
