South Carolina Motor Vehicle Power of Attorney (Form MC-25)
It is necessary to file an application form with the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles in order for a motor vehicle owner (referred to as the Licencee) to appoint a party to act as their Attorney-in-Fact before the Department. It is vital that the South Carolina Motor Vehicle Power of Attorney (Form MC-25) is used for this purpose, as no other form will be considered valid. In short, this form allows the Licencee to appoint either an individual or company to act in their place to complete tasks concerning their motor vehicle. The Licencee should keep in mind that in order to accept the form, the Department requires a Notary Public acknowledge their signature.
Motor vehicle owners who wish to establish a new IFTA or IRP account should note that these actions cannot be completed by filing the MC-25 form.
