Illinois Motor Vehicle (DMV) Power of Attorney

If a motor vehicle owner wants to designate someone to be their lawful Attorney-in-Fact for their motor vehicle, they can fill out an Illinois Motor Vehicle Power of Attorney (Form RT 5.10). According to the Vehicle Services Department of Illinois, the authority in charge of administering this form, the execution of it will grant the Attorney-in-Fact the ability to “sign all papers and documents required to secure Illinois title and/or registration of, or transfer interest” for the  vehicle named in the form.
