Connecticut Motor Vehicle Power of Attorney (Form A-83)


The Connecticut Motor Vehicle Power of Attorney (Form A-83) is a special Power of Attorney supplied by the state Department of Motor Vehicles that authorizes a person selected by the motor vehicle owner to make, complete, and sign on their behalf an application for:

  • Motor vehicle registration,
  • Certificate of title, or
  • Another written document or form required to be filed with the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles related to any other transactions involving the above.

Signing Requirements – The Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles requires the form to be: signed by the motor vehicle owner, witnessed and signed by two (2) witnesses, and acknowledged and signed by a Notary Public.
