Alabama General (Financial) Power of Attorney Form


The Alabama General (Financial) Power of Attorney is used by an individual (called the Principal) to assign a temporary or long-term Agent to handle one or more financial tasks, either due to being in a different location, being in poor health, or another personal reason. If the Principal is incapacitated at any time during the form’s duration, it will be terminated, as the document is not “durable.” To ensure the form is official, it is imperative the document is signed in the presence of a notary public.

Signing Requirements (§ 26-1A-105) – For a General Power of Attorney to be compliant with state law, the Principal must sign their name on the form before a Notary Public.
