Maryland Roommate Agreement

The Maryland Roommate Agreement provides a tenant bound under a lease agreement with a means of stating the rules and conditions to a 3rd party, who will be living the leased property in place of the tenant for the remainder of the original agreement. Maryland law allows the act of subleasing unless the landlord has a strong reason for denying it. A valid reason would be if the landlord believes (and has proof), that the 3rd party will not pay rent, damage the property, harass neighboring tenants, or another compelling reason
