Alabama Standard Residential Lease Agreement

The Alabama Residential Lease Agreement binds a tenant (also called a “lessee”) and a landlord (“lessor”) to an agreement that states the conditions (“rules”) and regulations of the lease. Because it is legally binding, either party may take the other to court in the case of a breach of contract. Alabama’s state law regarding residential leases, Title 35 Article 9A, overviews the obligations of both the landlord and tenant, remedies for both parties, and the general provisions regarding how leases should be constructed.
