Blank Invoice Template

Download the Blank Invoice Template, a basic, non-complicated invoice that can be used by virtually any service or product-based business to charge clients. Invoices can easily become overcomplicated with fields the average company would rarely need. Because of the difficulty in offering an invoice that precisely fits the need of a company, freelancers and companies typically prefer starting from an editable base-template, such as the one offered below in PDF, Word, RTF, and Excel formats. No industry-unique fields, no complicated features, just a simple, barebones invoice template ready to be downloaded.

How to Write in PDF & Word

Step 1 – Download

Download the Blank Invoice in Adobe PDF or Microsoft Word.

Step 2 – Company Info

At the top of the invoice, enter the following:

  • Name of the Company
  • Company Address
  • Phone Number
  • Email Address
  • Website (if applicable)

Step 3 – Billed Client Information

Enter the contact information of the client that will be billed for the services or products provided, including:

Step 4 – Products Sold

For any products sold, enter a Description of each product type, the Quantity of product sold, and the Unit Cost of each product. Then, multiply the quantity of each product by its unit cost to calculate the Amount. Sum the amount column and enter the result into the Product Total field.

Step 5 – Services Offered

Similar to the fourth (4th) step, start by entering a Description of each service rendered, the number of Hours dedicated to each service, and the Hourly Rate ($ / Hr) charged for each type of service. Multiply the hourly rate by the hours to find the Amount charged per service. Sum the amounts and enter the amount into the Service Total cell. Sum the Product Total and Service Total to calculate the TOTAL invoice amount.

Step 6 – Notes & Due Date

Enter any notes or instructions for the client, such as acceptable payment methods or notes about the products or services provided. At the bottom of the document, enter the date the client is required to pay the full invoice amount by. The Blank Invoice Template has now been completed.
